Job Description

  • Reports to the Director of Content
  • Works within the guidelines set forth by the Director of Content to write in-depth training programs on disease states, drug pharmacokinetics, and other medical topics
  • Writes to different levels, including those suitable for pharmaceutical representatives, university students, and patients
  • Works with Managing Editors and members of the Production team to develop print or interactive online/mobile training programs that meet client specifications
  • Ensures the overall quality and uniformity of writing and Instructional Design for all projects; ensures that established style guides are followed
  • Ensures that all content is properly referenced
  • Writes concisely and under strict deadlines
  • At times, interacts with clients in regard to content of scripts and storyboards, as deemed appropriate by the Director of Content

Desired Skills & Experience

  • University degree in science (MSc or PhD preferred) or science education, or experience as a medical professional (physician, nursing, allied health)
  • Experience in medical and/or scientific writing
  • Knowledge of the AMA style
  • Strong organization and communication skills; diplomacy
  • Computer skills: Word, Outlook, Internet, Excel, Reference Manager, Power Point
  • Outstanding oral and written English skills


  • Experience in medical communications for the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries (for both online and traditional publication)
  • Clinical/scientific background training in a bio-science discipline, and knowledge of clinical terminology
  • Knowledge of CME
  • Knowledge of Instructional Design and eLearning
  • Ability to write concise, attention-grabbing, and hard-hitting copy
  • Creative mind with strong visualization skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Teaching experience
