Upcoming events

There are a couple of events that you might want to put down on your calendar.

This Really Happened is an event where local writers amuse the audience with their unique perspectives on life. Here’s the line up:

  • Janet Torge on a cross-border adventure that ends in questions
  • Jeremy Wexler on four-year olds, red slushies and archeological ruins in Israel
  • Josée Blanchet on a drug-fuelled discovery in India
  • Rick Hancox on a night of greaseballs and cussing in 1960’s Charlottetown
  • Sarah Gilbert on why your father should never learn the piano
  • A very-pregnant Marci Denesiuk will read from her pregnancy diaries (unless she gives birth before then)

The Where & When:

  • Monday, 14 June 2010, 20:00 – 22:00
  • The Sparrow Bar, 5322 St-Laurent, above Fairmount (here’s the map)

The next item on the agenda is a screenwriting seminar

Concordia University instructor, writer and PWAC member Elizabeth Johnston will be giving a one-day basic screenwriting seminar in July. You’ll come away with the tools to transform that great idea into a screenplay. During the day, we cover the gamut — character, dialogue, setting, structure, and more. Plus, you’ll receive a booklet chock full of useful information.

The fee is $95 (early bird fee, until 18 June), and the only pre-requisite is a passion for writing!

To register, visit http://explore-the-possibilities.com/Workshops.html. For a chance to win your registration fee, see ElizabethJohnston.wordpress.com
