Thursday, October 1 at 12:30 pm
For the Atwater Library LUNCHTIME SERIES, Talisman Theatre presents an excerpt from the play ROCK, PAPER, JACKKNIFE… by Marilyn Perreault, the English translation of which premieres the following week at Centaur Theatre’s Brave New Looks Festival.  The creative team will discuss the themes of the play and the design process.
Everyone is welcome and coffee served.  Free admission; donations invited.

The ATWATER POETRY PROJECT, led by poet Katia Grubisic, presents readings by poets John Reibetanz and A.F. Moritz.

For the Atwater Library LUNCHTIME SERIES, historian Aaron Krishtalka gives a talk on “Lyell and Darwin on Time”, discussing the ways our current concepts of time have been transformed by evolutionary biology, whose modern form emerged from Darwin’s On The Origin Of Species and Lyell’s earlier Principles of Geology. 
Everyone is welcome and coffee served.  Free admission; donations invited. 

Wednesday, October 14 at 12:30 pm 
For the Atwater Library LUNCHTIME SERIES, to mark Women’s History Month and to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Person’s Case, Michèle Nadeau gives a talk about her grandmother, Thérèse Casgrain, suffragist, first woman party leader in Canada, and Senator. 
Everyone is welcome and coffee served.  Free admission; donations invited. 

Friday, October 23 at 12:30 pm 
For the Atwater Library LUNCHTIME SERIES, political cartoonist Terry Mosher (Aislin) gives an illustrated presentation on his new book, Aislin’s Shenanigans, featuring his best cartoons of the past three years.  The book will be on sale at the event. 
Everyone is welcome and coffee served.  Free admission; donations invited. 

Wednesday, October 28 at 7:30 pm 
Author Mary Soderstrom leads the ATWATER BOOK CLUB in a discussion of The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery.

Thursday, October 29 at 12:30 pm 
For the Atwater Library LUNCHTIME SERIES, Karolyn Smardz Frost gives a presentation based on her book I’ve Got a Home in Glory Land: A Lost Tale of the Underground Railroad, winner of the 2007 Governor General’s Literary Award for English Non-Fiction. 
The Canada Council for the Arts is providing funding for Dr. Frost’s reading. 
Everyone is welcome and coffee served.  Free admission; donations invited.

The ATWATER POETRY PROJECT, led by poet Katia Grubisic, presents readings by poets John Barton and Margaret Christakos.
