PWAC Quebec Spring Events

We have two upcoming events, one of which is open to the public. The other, our annual Show & Tell, is members only. You can get all the details for Show & Tell in the Members Only section. Our Freelancer Boot Camp ’08 on April 5 is free for members and open to anyone for a small fee. All the details are below.

Freelancer Boot Camp ’08
This half-day workshop presents a series of speakers about important freelancer topics. It’s free for PWAC members, $20 for non-members, and $10 for Concordia journalism students. This year’s topics and speakers are:

-Accounting for Freelancers: Chartered Accountant Remo Scappaticci, who handles taxes for several PWAC members, will provide an overview of important tax rules for freelancers and offer tax planning tips.
-Home Office Ergonomics: Ergonomics and design consultant Bernie Shalinsky will explain how to create the perfect home office set-up, and how it can help your productivity.
-Blogging: Award-winning blogger and new media expert Matthew Forsythe will explain how blogs can help you grow your audience and connect with clients.
-Photography: Montreal photographer Peter McCabe will provide basic photography tips for writers looking to sell images along with their words.

Each speaker will give a presentation and then take questions from members. Coffee, juice and snacks will be provided. All attendees are asked to RSVP to Ian Howarth at teaching1@sympatico.ca.
